1. How thick does the asphalt on my driveway need to be?
2 1/2 inches is standard for a driveway with only car traffic. 3-4 inches is standard for a street or parking lot.
2. Is asphalt or concrete less expensive?
Asphalt is usually around 1/2 the price of concrete, depending on how much prep is required
3. Can I prepare my driveway or parking lot myself?
Sure! With a little coaching it is something most people with machine skills can conquer. Remember grading is tricky business, and water only runs downhill. Also, the paving job will only be as good as the rock base it it laid on.
4. How long does asphalt last?
Anywhere from 10 to 30 years, depending on traffic and how well it is taken care of.
5. How do I take care of my new asphalt?
We recommend sealcoating the surface 2-5 years.
